Local Government Area (LGA)

Gayndah is located in Division 4 of the LGA of North Burnett Regional Council (NBRC), who provide the standard local council services.

The current councillor representing Division 4 is Cr Dael Giddens. Cr Giddens won the seat in the 2020 LGA elections. You can read up more about Cr Giddens, the NBRC Mayor and other NBRC Councillors here.

The next LGA election will be held on 30 March 2024 (held every four years on the last Saturday in March).

State Electorate

In Queensland State Politics, Gayndah is located in the Callide electorate.

The State MP representing Callide is MP Bryson Head. Mr Head was elected in a by-election held on 18 June 2022, after the former representative, Colin Boyce was elected into the federal seat.

The next Queensland state election will be held on 26 October 2024, (held every 4 years on last Saturday of October).

Federal Electorate

Federally, Gayndah is located in the Flynn electorate.

The federal MP representing Flynn is MP Colin Boyce. Mr Boyce (LNP) won the seat in the 2022 Federal election (21 May), after the retirement of the former representative Mr Ken O’Dowd (LNP).

The next federal election is expected to be in 2025, (held every 3 years).
